As an ‘Integrative Counsellor’, I have the flexibility of being able to integrate many different approaches into my practice. I very much believe that one size does not fit all, and I treat every client individually. The interventions that I use will be discussed and agreed with you before-hand and you will be an active participant in this. I always follow your lead and adapt my style to suit you.
Throughout our sessions, my aim is to provide you with the tools you need to manage the challenges you are dealing with. I can help you understand problems from new perspectives and discover ways of managing difficult situations better. I provide education, understanding and proactive tools which you can utilise to implement positive change. I never tell clients what to do or offer my opinion on a certain situation or experience. My approach is a process of self-discovery and personal reflection. I provide a safe, non-judgemental space for clients to open up and explore their experiences and feelings.
As your counsellor...
I will:
Provide an empathic and honest experience of counselling.
Respect your autonomy and independence.
Listen carefully to what you have to say.
Provide a safe and confidential environment.
Work with you to address your needs and make the changes you want.
I won't:
Advise you on how to live your life.
Make judgements about how you live your life.
Share the content of our sessions with others.
